- Thank you for trying the new Qmodem SST!
-
- There are a few things that did not make it into the documentation
- that you need to do before running the new Qmodem SST.
-
- If you are starting fresh, you can skip to number 3. If you are
- upgrading from a previous release, follow closely.
-
-
- 1) If you are upgrading from version 2.3, then you need to run the
- program CONV-CNF.COM. This will convert your CNF file for the new
- version. It will also move the XLT file into the CNF file so you
- can delete the XLT file wne done.
-
- 2) You must run Qinstall and modify the screen colors. They have
- changed since 2.3 and now there are three more choices. If you do
- not update these, your window borders and status line will be
- invisible.
-
- 3) There is an additional ARC file called EXTERNAL.ARC which contains
- everything you need to add KERMIT, BATCH YMODEM, ZMODEM, and
- WXMODEM to Qmodem SST. They have NOT been pre-installed. Follow
- the directions in the QMODEM.DOC file for installation.
-
- 4) If you plan on using the VT100 emulation, you will want to unARC
- the VT100KEY.ARC file. In it is a VT100.KEY (Function Key File)
- and an FKey Template to use a reference.
-
- 5) There is a file called HOST.ARC which is a Host mode for Qmodem
- SST written entirely in the Script Language. It was decided to
- utilize the Script Language for the host mode rather than hard
- code it so the end user (you) could change it if you so choose.
-
- 6) Enjoy!
