  1. Thank you for trying the new Qmodem SST!
  2.  
  3. There are a few things that did not make it into the documentation
  4. that you need to do before running the new Qmodem SST.
  5.  
  6. If you are starting fresh, you can skip to number 3.  If you are
  7. upgrading from a previous release, follow closely.
  8.  
  9.  
  10. 1)  If you are upgrading from version 2.3, then you need to run the
  11.     program CONV-CNF.COM.  This will convert your CNF file for the new
  12.     version.  It will also move the XLT file into the CNF file so you
  13.     can delete the XLT file wne done.
  14.  
  15. 2)  You must run Qinstall and modify the screen colors.  They have
  16.     changed since 2.3 and now there are three more choices.  If you do
  17.     not update these, your window borders and status line will be
  18.     invisible.

  20. 3)  There is an additional ARC file called EXTERNAL.ARC which contains
  21.     everything you need to add KERMIT, BATCH YMODEM, ZMODEM, and
  22.     WXMODEM to Qmodem SST.  They have NOT been pre-installed.  Follow
  23.     the directions in the QMODEM.DOC file for installation.

  25. 4)  If you plan on using the VT100 emulation, you will want to unARC
  26.     the VT100KEY.ARC file.  In it is a VT100.KEY (Function Key File)
  27.     and an FKey Template to use a reference.

  29. 5)  There is a file called HOST.ARC which is a Host mode for Qmodem
  30.     SST written entirely in the Script Language.  It was decided to
  31.     utilize the Script Language for the host mode rather than hard
  32.     code it so the end user (you) could change it if you so choose.
